The quest for a new contract has overtaken Glen Davis‘ quest for a gold medal.

The 23-year-old forward, who was invited to Team USA’s minicamp in June, has opted not to participate, according to the Boston Globe.

Davis’ agent, John Hamilton, told the Globe that because he is a free agent, playing at the camp could lessen his chances to get a contract offer.

Davis, who averaged 15.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in the playoffs, is a restricted free agent but has not yet received any offers.

The Globe reports that Kendrick Perkins and Rajon Rondo had already turned down invitations due to Perkins’ wedding on July 25.
