A-Rod Misses Game After Being Hit on Elbow

Alex Rodriguez was forced out of the lineup on Thursday night in the Yankees' 11-1 win over the Seattle Mariners after being hit in the elbow by a pitch on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

But after missing the first game of a 10-game road trip, A-Rod is expected to be back in the lineup on Friday night.

Rodriguez got hit square on his elbow pad by a pitch from Blue Jays reliever Shawn Camp that left a tingling sensation down to his hand for 30 minutes. The combination of pain and swelling kept the Yankees third basemen from playing in the series opener against the Mariners.

Since the plunking in the Yankees' 4-3 walk-off win against the Blue Jays, Rodriguez has undergone treatment for the elbow, which has mainly included ice to reduce the swelling.
