As part of the Tickets for Troops program, the Red Sox will show appreciation to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces during the pregame ceremonies on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Along with military personnel from all six branches of the Armed Forces, decorated veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and a season ticket holder representing all season ticket holders will also be honored.

Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division will join the crowd at Fenway Park live on the video scoreboard via satellite from Basra Province in Southern Iraq. The family of Specialist Seth Barham from Exeter, N.H., one of the members of the unit in Basra, will be in attendance at Fenway Park.

The first pitch of the game will be delivered by Paul Monti, the father of Sergeant First Class Jared C. Monti of Raynham, M.A. who passed away in 2006 while trying to rescue fellow soldiers in Afghanistan during a battle against Taliban insurgents.

This is the second year the Red Sox have held Tickets for Troops at Fenway Park, and over 1,000 tickets have been donated by season ticket holders, members of the Red Sox front office and players for the 2009 event.
