Yankees’ Kennedy Returns to the Mound After Surgery

Remember the name Ian Kennedy? He was the third untouchable Musketeer in the Yankees’ farm system, along with Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes.

The latter two have been valuable assets for the Bombers in 2009. Kennedy, meanwhile, has been nothing short of a disappointment.

According to the New York Post, Kennedy threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, the first pitches he’s thrown off a mound since undergoing surgery on May 12 to remove an aneurysm from below his right biceps.

The 24-year-old right-hander hopes to make a minor league appearance before season’s end.
