Bruins to Celebrate Season Opener With ‘Fan Fest’

The 2009-10 season begins for the Bruins on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the TD Garden as the Bruins host the Washington Capitals. To celebrate the start of another hockey season in the Hub, the Bruins will host "Fan Fest" presented by TD Bank in the East lot outside the Garden prior to the opener .

Fans will have the opportunity to see and have their photo taken with the Norris Trophy, Vezina Trophy, and Jack Adams Award, which were won by Zdeno Chara, Tim Thomas and Claude Julien, fespectively last season. The festivities will also include a variety of interactive games, limited edition T-shirt giveaways, the chance to sit in the original Garden penalty box, face painting and a live performance from Boston band Hypercane.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be emceed by Fred Toucher from 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich Show. The Bruins Ice Girls and the Bruins mascot, Blades, will also be on hand for the event and available for photographs.
