Nationals’ Strasburg Set to Pitch in Florida Instructional League

WASHINGTON — Stephen Strasburg is set to start
pitching in the Florida Instructional League, a month after the No. 1 pick in
the draft signed with the Washington Nationals.

As expected, the Nationals announced Tuesday that
Strasburg will report to the team's training complex in Viera, Fla., on Friday.
The first game in the instructional league is Sept. 24 and the season runs
through Oct. 13. The Nationals also plan to have Strasburg pitch in the Arizona
Fall League.

Since agreeing to a four-year, $15.1 million contract,
Strasburg has been building up his arm in workout sessions in Florida and
Washington.
