In order to keep the defensive depth chart filled in the event of an injury, the Patriots worked out five players at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday, ESPNBoston.com reports.

Linebackers Bruce Davis and Jay Moore, and defensive backs Travonti Johnson, Terrail Lambert and Stoney Woodson were the five players at the workout.

Davis was selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2008 draft. He was cut by the Steelers before the start of the season.

Moore was picked by the 49ers in the fourth round of the 2007 draft, but injuries kept him sidelined with the team.

Johnson was signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2007, and Woodson was also a member of the Giants before being released by the team on Aug. 31, 2009.
