Undrafted rookie wide receiver Terrence Nunn has cleared waivers and has signed with the Patriots' practice squad, according to Mac's Football Blog and boston.com.
Nunn performed well for the Patriots in the preseason, catching eight passes for 133 yards. Last week, in the preseason finale, he made three catches for 64 yards.
"[Nunn has] continued to make progress on a steady basis and he’s done a lot of things to catch our eye and the fans’ and everyone else that’s seen him play," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said on Friday. "He’s still got a lot of things to work on, but he’s making solid progress and had an impressive game last night."
Nunn was a prolific receiver at the University of Nebraska, finishing No. 2 in Huskers' history with 136 catches and 1,762 yards. He spent a year out of football last season and told The Boston Globe that he considered quitting.
“A few times, yeah, I thought about it,’’ Nunn said. “But my parents always told me that if I worked hard enough at something, in the end I’d probably get it.’’
Joining Nunn on the practice squad are quarterback/wide receiver Isaiah Stanback and cornerback DeAngelo Willingham.
