A pair of photographers has sued Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen for an incident in Costa Rica in which bodyguards of the couple allegedly fired shots at an SUV carrying the photographers, according to a Reuters report.
The plaintiffs claim that the incident took place at the couple's after-wedding party in Costa Rica and blame Bundchen and Brady for "negligence and carelessness." They are seeking at least $1 million in damages.
According to the suit, the photographers, Yuri Cortez and Rolando Aviles, were approached by bodyguards after taking pictures of the event. They claim that they were told by bodyguards to hand over their cameras and memory cards. The photographers refused and tried to leave in a vehicle, at which point they claim shots were fired, shattering the back windshield and narrowly missing the passengers.
No comment has been made by Brady or Bundchen.
