The Philadelphia Eagles won't have Michael Vick for the beginning of the regular season, but they will have him for the majority of the season. Vick was told on Thursday by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell that he will be fully reinstated for Week 3 and will not have to wait until October.
Vick's first game since being sent to prison for operating a dogfighting ring will be on Sept. 27 when the Eagles host the Kansas City Chiefs.
Vick met with Goodell for 45 to 50 minutes on Thursday morning at a team hotel in New Jersey to discuss his reinstatement. After that Goodell met with Vick's mentor, former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, for another 45 minutes.
