News went from bad to worse for Celtics small forward Bill Walker, who left Wednesday's practice to get an MRI on his right knee.
On Thursday, head coach Doc Rivers announced that Walker will miss six to eight weeks with a torn meniscus in his right knee. Walker left Wednesday's practice early and went to Boston to get an MRI on his right knee, which was surgically repaired last year.
Rivers told reporters that Walker will have surgery Friday morning at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. The 21-year-old averaged three points in just 29 games last year with the
Celtics. The 6-foot-6, 220-pounder started 15 games with Utah of the NBDL, where
he averaged 18.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in over 30 minutes of action per
game.
