The Bruins loaned forward Guillaume Lefebvre to the Providence Bruins for the AHL affiliate's game against the Portland Pirates on Sunday, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced.

Lefebvre was recalled by the Bruins from Providence on an emergency basis for the team's game in Phoenix on Saturday night. He played 11:01 in the Bruins' 4-1 loss to the Coyotes to finish their two-game road trip.

In 39 career NHL games, Lefebvre has two goals and four assists for six points. His season debut for the Bruins on Saturday was the first NHL game in which he has played since the 2005-06 season, when he played nine games for the Penguins.

Lefebvre, 28, signed a one-year contract with the Bruins on Sept. 26. He was assigned to Providence on Sept. 28.
