Dustin Pedroia Prepared For Any Double-Play Combo With bumps and bruises to Alex Gonzalez's hand, Jed Lowrie's wrist and Nick Green's leg, second baseman Dustin Pedroia wonders who will be covering the middle of the infield alongside him during the ALDS this week.

Although Gonzalez appears to be healthy enough to take the starting role back, anything can happen and Pedroia is ready for whatever happens and for whoever takes the field on Thursday.

"I'm pretty comfortable with all of them," the 2008 AL MVP told ESPN.com. "I've taken plenty of
ground balls with each guy. We're comfortable out there. And they
understand that, when we need to turn a double play, it needs to be
turned. It's hard enough pitching and trying to find a way to get outs,
hopefully we can do a good job for [the pitchers]."

Lowrie smashed a grand slam in the regular season finale on Sunday but winced in pain as he smacked the big blast into the right field stands.

"I'm prepared to do whatever they ask of me," said Lowrie, who is likely to back up Gonzalez due to the apparent severity of Green's injury.
