Fred Taylor Says He’ll Be Back ‘Stronger’ This Season

Despite a report saying Patriots running back Fred Taylor could miss the rest of the season, the 33-year-old is remaining optimistic.

In Taylor's first public comments since undergoing ankle surgery, the veteran said he expects to return to the field in New England.

"I will bounce back stronger. I know it. I've prayed on it,” Taylor told the Florida Times-Union.

Taylor said the procedure was more serious than a scope and repaired some torn ligaments. He said the injury was more frustrating than anything.

“I had just started to feel comfortable with the coaching staff and the offense,” he said. “I had just gotten to where I felt like [the coaching staff] trusted me. I needed to have that 100-yard game to prove to them they could trust me. That’s the part that hurts the most about the whole situation.”
