Ryder has two goals and two assists thus far, tied for second on the team in points behind Marc Savard (two goals, three assists). Ryder also owns a power-play goal — an asset that has been hard to come by for the B's in their opening stretch.
Lucic, meanwhile, hasn't played poorly, but the team, which has averaged 2.33 goals in its three losses, clearly needs Ryder's offensive boost. Lucic has yet to score but has picked up three helpers. He'll join center David Krejci and winger Blake Wheeler on the third line.
The defensive pairings will remain the same.
First: Marco Sturm-Marc Savard-Michael Ryder
Second: Mark Recchi-Patrice Bergeron-Chuck Kobasew
Third: Milan Lucic-David Krejci-Blake Wheeler
Fourth: Shawn Thornton-Steve Begin-Byron Bitz
