The Red Sox could lose a key piece or two of their coaching staff for the 2010 season. Red Sox bench coach Brad Mills and first base coach Tim Bogar both interviewed for the Houston Astros' managerial position on Monday, The Boston Globe reports.

The two coaches interviewed with Astros general manager Ed Wade, who fired Terry Francona when Francona was the manager of the Phillies. The two are said to be in a group of 10 that are up for the position.

"I thought it went well," Mills told the Globe. “I thought this one seemed to go
a lot smoother, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. There’s no doubt
that the experience of going through it and how guys handle it, things
that are done the same or differently [helped]. They were very good. It
was a good conversation, a good baseball conversation. I enjoy baseball
conversation.’"

Mills has been with the Red Sox for six seasons, Bogar has been with the team for one season. If neither are selected for managerial jobs, the Red Sox plan on returning their same coaching staff from last season.
