With a hot start followed by a three-game losing skid, the Jets appear to be following along a familiar path.
Head coach Rex Ryan is determined to not let that be the case.
"We've got to do something to get that changed," Ryan said at his news conference this week. "I don't believe it, 'the same old Jets.' My 'same old Jets' would be my dad [Buddy Ryan], who won the Super Bowl. I'll sign up for that. If you want to go back to karma, let's go for that."
Despite the losses and the inconsistency from quarterback Mark Sanchez, Ryan remains confident.
"I believe in this football team, and I've said that from day one," Ryan said. "I know I'll get criticized for it because maybe my expectations were too high. I don't think that's true. My expectations are we are going to have a heck of a football team, and I am not backing off on that one bit.
