Some Surefire Picks for Week 6 of NFL Action If you’ve been keeping tabs on NESN.com lately, you already know that a few of us here at the network are battling it out — week in and week out — on the fantasy football field.

I can't complain about my results so far this season, but it seems like even when I don’t pick up the right players, I still seem to pick the right teams on a weekly basis. Plus, all of my friends who enjoy putting a small wager on games of chance call me all the time, looking for picks. So for all of you out there who may want an edge in your office pool fantasy league — or for everyone who just wants to outpick their buddies on Sunday — here are my selections for Week 6 in the NFL. Lets get it started!

Texans (2-3) at Bengals (4-1)
Expect Carson Palmer and Chad Ochocinco to have a big week against a lackluster Texans team.

Lions (1-4) at Packers (2-2)

Not trying to be a hater, but Aaron Rodgers does not impress me. Pick Detroit for the upset!

Ravens (3-2) at Vikings (5-0)
This is a tough pick, but I expect Brett Favre to pull another rabbit out of his new purple hat.

Giants (5-0) at Saints (4-0)
The Louisiana Superdome is a serious home-field advantage, but the Pelican State is Eli Manning’s home, too. Go Giants!

Browns (1-4) at Steelers (3-2)
Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn? Who really cares? Steelers all day!

Panthers (1-3) at Buccaneers (0-5)
The Panthers do have a win this year — but they still stink. So do the Bucs, but I have a feeling … Tampa!

Chiefs (0-5) at Redskins (2-3)
Matt Cassel is due — long overdue. Place your bets on KC before kickoff.

Rams (0-5) at Jaguars (2-3)
This is Sunday's version of the Toilet Bowl. The Rams couldn’t beat some college teams. Go with the Jags.

Cardinals (2-2) at Seahawks (2-3)
This is a tricky one. I'm leaning toward Kurt Warner and his gloves. Plus, how can you doubt Matt Leinart's clipboard?

Eagles (3-1) at Raiders (1-4)
JaMarcus Russell
has to be the biggest disappointment since Akili Smith. Donovan McNabb leads his team to victory.

Titans (0-5) at Patriots (3-2)
No-brainer. Brady to Moss will be back in full effect.

Bills (1-4) at Jets (3-2)
I don’t see Buffalo's offense going through T.O., and I also see the Bills getting smashed.

Bears (3-1) at Falcons (3-1)

I was Walter Payton for Halloween in '86 — but I really don’t like Jay Cutler. Go with Matty Ice and the Dirty Birds.

Broncos (5-0) at Chargers (2-2)
After Josh McDaniels' coaching display against New England last week, how can I go against Denver?

Now these picks aren’t the be-all, end-all of surefire wins, but I usually do pretty well at making victorious selections — as long as I don’t have any money on the line. Pick your battles wisely, stay away from trap games, and remember: Wager with your head and not your heart.
