Jack Edwards Wants You to Nickname the Bruins’ Fourth Line

A Bruins fan knows to never underestimate the importance of the fourth line.

NESN commentator Jack Edwards doesn’t, either — and that’s why he challenged B’s fans to name the bruising line featuring Shawn Thornton, Steve Begin and Byron Bitz.

In Thursday’s shootout loss to the Panthers, the Bruins tallied 19 shots in the second period alone, and part of the reason they were able to put so much pressure on the Panthers’ defense was because of the grit and intensity of the fourth line. And when the Bruins couldn’t manage to find a way to score during the period, Thornton tried to spark them by doing what he does best — dropping the gloves.
