The Phillies experienced a scare in the first inning of Game 5 on Monday when center fielder Shane Victorino was drilled on the right hand by Yankees starter A.J. Burnett. Luckily for the Phillies, X-rays on Victorino's right index finger were negative and he expects to play in Game 6 on Wednesday.

Victorino looked like he was experiencing discomfort throughout the game, and looked like he had trouble gripping a bat and the ball.

"When I first got hit, I said, 'Oh no, this doesn't feel right,' "
Victorino told reporters. "I went in and threw and it felt fine. I'm happy for
that."

Victorino went 0-for-3 and was eventually replaced in the eighth inning by Ben Francisco. Victorino was shocked to find out he was being replaced and tried to convince manager Charlie Manuel to put Francisco in left field for Raul Ibanez so he could stay in the game.

"I wanted to play," Victorino said. "There was some miscommunication, but other than that, everything was fine."

Victorino is 3-for-18 (.167) in the World Series with two RBIs. In 14 postseason games this year, he is 16-for-54 (.296) with three home runs and nine RBIs.
