The Dodgers are taking a chance on Josh Towers.
The right-hander signed a minor league contract with Los Angeles late on Friday night, according to the Associated Press. Towers will make $700,000 in 2010.
Towers last pitched a full major league season in 2007, when he went 5-10 with a 5.38 ERA for the Blue Jays. His last winning season came in 2005, when he went a career-best 13-12 with a 3.71 ERA.
Towers did not appear in the majors in 2008, spending the entirety of the year with the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate. On May 10, 2009, after being released by the Nationals, he signed with the Yankees and made two major league appearances, posting a 3.38 ERA. In 18 Triple-A starts between the Nationals and the Yankees last season, he posted a 3.05 ERA.
