Live Blog: Miami at Boston CollegeFinal, BC 61-60: That will do it from the Conte Forum as the Eagles come away with a big home win against Miami.

The Eagles move to 6-2 on the season, and the Hurricanes move to 8-1 with their first loss.

The first-place Eagles now hold a big win in their favor down the road if they need an at-large bid for the NCAA tournament.

Thanks to everyone who followed along with the live blog.

Second half, :02.3, BC 59-57: Miami went for the win on the road with the 3-pointer and came up short. BC heads to the line with a chance to put the game on ice.

Second half, :18, BC 59-57: Miami has one timeout left, trailing by two in the game. BC is looking at a very good start to their ACC schedule if it can get one more stop.

Second half, 1:50, Tied 57-57: The Superfans are awfully quiet now with Miami tying the game at 57. The move to wait to put the starters back for Miami until midway through the half has paid off.

Second half, 2:50, BC 57-55: BC has found a way to blow a 14-point lead over the last six minutes, and now Miami has the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead.

Second half, 3:53, BC 57-52: It took Miami nearly 30 minutes of play, but the Hurricanes finally showed up for the first time since the opening minutes of the game.

Second half, 6:23, BC 55-47: Miami has the lead down to single digits and have a chance to make it a two-possession game with plenty of time left. The exact situation the Eagles didn't want.

Second half, 8:46, BC 54-43: BC is doing a good job of milking the clock with under nine minutes to play. Miami has the lead down to 11, but with the lengthy shot slock, the Eagles have a chance to put the game out of reach over the next few minutes.

Second half, 13:14, BC 50-36: The lead remains 14 for BC. The Eagles just need to continue to trade baskets with Miami the rest of the way. If BC can stay disciplined on defense and avoid the sort of slump it had earlier, the Eagles will come away with the win.

Second half, 15:40, BC 43-29: BC has Miami on the ropes with a 14-point lead and just under 16 minutes to play. The Miami offense has yet to show up since the opening minutes of the game, but the BC defense gets a lot of of credit for adjusting after the bad start.

Second half, 19:30, BC 33-25: BC starts off the second half with the ball, and some good passing down low gets the Eagles to the line where they pick up a pair of free throws for their biggest lead of the game at eight.

End of first half, BC 31-25: BC shot just 27 percent in the first half, but finish the half on an 8-0 run take a six-point lead into the locker room.

A strong finish to end of the half for the Eagles as they are now just one half away from handing Miami its first loss of the season and improving to 1-0 in ACC play. This win will likely be meaningful toward a tournament bid in the spring.

First half, 3:05, Miami 25-23: BC has buckled down defensively and limited its turnovers in the second half of the first half. Now trailing by just two, the Eagles will likely head into the locker room at half in a close game. After the first few minutes of play, they have to be happy where they are right now.

First half, 7:27, Miami 19-16: BC is just 5-for-25 on field goals through the first 12-plus minutes of the game at home. That can't stay that way if the Eagles want to knock off the Hurricanes.

First half, 9:20, Miami 17-16: Miami's 3-point attempts have been off by a mile. One attempt from the corner hit the backboard and another from up top barely touched any part of the rim. It could be the Hurricanes haven't got comfortable on the Conte Forum court yet, but they have looked ugly from downtown so far.

First half, 11:52, Miami 12-8: Miami's defense has proved to be too much for BC early on, forcing the Eagles to take outside shots. But so far, BC has been able to knock them down, trailing by just four despite a shaky start.

First half, 15:58, Miami 8-2: Some sloppy defense early on for BC has helped Miami jump out to a six-point lead. The Hurricanes have a chance to make it seven with a free-throw attempt coming after the TV timeout.

First half, 19:00, Miami 2-0: It took a minute, but we finally have the first points of the game with Miami getting on the board first.

2:30 p.m.: Boston College (5-2) will look to extend its winning streak to three straight against undefeated but unranked Miami (8-0) on Sunday afternoon in Chestnut Hill.

Led by Corey Raji's 16.2 points per game and Joe Trapani's 8.0 rebounds per game, the Eagles will hope to kick off their ACC schedule with a win over the improved Hurricanes.
