The Bruins had their final practice on Monday before heading out on a three-game West Coast road trip to Anaheim, San Jose and then Los Angeles.
Byron Bitz, who has missed the last two games with a back injury, was on the ice with his team, as was defenseman Mark Stuart (broken sternum), who appears to be getting closer and closer to returning. Stuart and Bitz will both travel with the team out west.
The more surprising news was that Patrice Bergeron, who suffered a broken thumb last week, will travel with the team to the West Coast.
"The guys we’re bringing with us, are guys that are getting closer," head coach Claude Julien said. "Bergy, whether it’s next week or whatever, it’s not a bad thing to have him with us so it’s not a bad thing. If he can start practicing with us next week or whenever, it’s not a bad thing. Same with Stuart, he’s getting closer obviously and we’ll see how he does and you may even see him in our lineup before the end of this road trip."
