Celtics guard J.R. Giddens was sent to the Maine Redclaws of the D-League on Thursday, suggesting that Kevin Garnett's return from injury is imminent.

The move was presumably made to allow Giddens the opportunity to play more regularly and to stay fresh.

Giddens has played in 21 games with Boston this season, averaging 1.1 points and 1.0 rebounds a tilt.
