Report: Celtics Made Offer to Knicks Guard Nate Robinson

The debate is on regarding whether the Celtics should be active in the trading market, and this should only add fuel to the fire.

The Celtics have made an offer to the Knicks for Nate Robinson, according to Yahoo's Marc Spears, who reported the proposed deal on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Celtics Hub picked up on the report on Tuesday.

The New York Daily News spoke to a person "with close ties" to Doc Rivers, and apparently the Celtics' coach isn't concerned about attitude issues with Robinson, who was benched for 14 consecutive games this season in December.

"Doc thinks he can connect with anybody," the source told the News.

That much was made clear last year when the Celtics acquired Stephon Marbury, so it's safe to say that at this point, anything is possible.

Robinson is a 5-foot-9 guard who's probably known more for his dunk contest escapades than his game performance. The 25-year-old is averaging 13 points and 3.2 assists this season, shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from 3-point range.
