Darrell Green was always one of the fastest players in the league when he played from 1983-2002. More than seven years later, it appears as though Green hasn’t slowed down.

The Hall of Famer said that he celebrated his 50th birthday by testing out his jets. If he’s to be believed, it appears as though the afterburners still work just fine.

“Quick update from the Birthday Boy,” he wrote on his Twitter page. “I think today I became the fastest 50 year old in the world! @9AM today, I celebrated my 50th BDay … by running the 40 yard dash in Orlando, Florida in a time of 4.43!

“I’m guessing that makes me the fastest baby boomer! I would say, thats really booming. Are you?”

Though the only way we all know this is because Green told us, it’s not that hard to believe. Check out this video from 2000, when Green, at the age of 40, outran the entire Washington Redskins team.

“Please do understand that it is not me thats great, but the Holy God of the universe that has blessed me!” he wrote on his Twitter page. “I can do ALL things through Him.”

In his playing days, Green was a two-time Super Bowl champion and seven-time Pro Bowler, making 54 interceptions (19th all time).
