Autistic Teenager With Perfect NCAA Bracket Through Two Rounds Falls Short of Perfection

Joe Lunardi, Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale have nothing on 17-year-old Alex Herrmann's bracketology skills.

After two rounds of the NCAA tournament, Herrmann, an autistic student from Glenbrook South High in Glenview, Ill., had a perfect NCAA tournament bracket, ESPN.com reports.

Herrmann credits his strong math skills for his bracket success.

"It's amazing," Hermann told NBC.com. "I'm good at math. I'm kind of good at math and at stats I see on TV during the game."

Herrmann won't be going 63-0 in the tournament, though. Syracuse's loss to Butler ruined his hopes of carrying a perfect bracket into the Elite Eight. And his pick to win the national championship (Purdue) was eliminated by Duke.

But three of his four Final Four teams — Kansas State, Tennessee and Kentucky — are still alive.

That's better than many bracketologists can say.
