Thursday night's Bruins game will be a celebration — and not just because Matt Cooke is coming to town.

Members of the 1970 Bruins Stanley Cup team will be in attendance to celebrate the team's championship and the days of the Big Bad Bruins.

Former Bruins expected to be in attendance include Johnny Bucyk, Bobby Orr, Derek Sanderson, Ken Hodge, John McKenzie, Eddie Johnston, Ed Westfall, Fred Stanfield, Wayne Carleton, Don Marcotte, Dallas Smith, Bill Lesuk, Rick Smith and coach Harry Sinden.

The entire 1970 champion team will be honored with a pregame celebration, and after the Bruins-Penguins matchup, there will be a postgame celebration to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the squad. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with current and former Bruins from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Event tickets can be purchased at Bostonbruins.com. Net proceeds will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Boston Bruins Alumni Foundation.

NESN's presentation of W.B. Mason Bruins Face-Off Live will have live coverage of the pregame on-ice celebration.
