Free agent Leigh Bodden's message on Sunday was clear, as the cornerback told a Houston television station that the only thing he's looking for is to be wanted.
"It's all about who wants me. If [the Patriots] want me, they can get me," he told Fox 26 in Houston, when visiting the Texans. "If Houston wants me, they can get me."
Bodden, who signed a one-year deal with the Patriots last offseason, was tied for the team-lead in interceptions with five, three of which came against the Jets in Week 11. He made 55 tackles, forced a fumble, defended 18 passes, scored a touchdown and was the most reliable corner on the Patriots' roster. On Sunday, the Houston Chronicle reported that Bodden was meeting with the Texans.
Bodden told the TV station that he had another meeting with a different team lined up, "but hopefully I don't need it."
"It's kind of nerve-wracking," he added. "It is what it is. It's part of the business. … Hopefully I can get things done with the Texans and just move on."
