Yankees Vice President of Baseball Operations Mark Newman Smiles for the Camera

Drama rattled the 2009 Yankees' spring training camp thanks to Alex Rodriguez and his admission to performance-enhancing drugs. This year, a front office member is making headlines thanks to a run-in with the police.

Hillsborough County Jail reports show that Mark Newman,
the Yankees' senior vice president of baseball operations, was arrested
Monday night. Newman reportedly refused to take a blood-alcohol test
and was released several hours later on $500 bail.

“We made it very clear to [Carl Edwards] that these actions were not acceptable and did go beyond what we said back in January about putting the driving back in the hands of the drivers. We believe he understands our position at this point.”

"Boy, do I miss you, LB. Here's a thought: Should the NHL REMOVE the helmets from skaters? Could it be that guys feel "safer" with a helmet, therefore are more willing to make a hit to the head, raise a stick, and/or hit from behind? I'd be curious to hear from older players who played before the 1979-80 season as to the occurrence of concussions; or as it was referred to then, 'getting your bell rung.'"
