Bruins Give Back to Community With 'Cuts for a Cause,' Other Events The director of development for the Boston Bruins Foundation, Bob Sweeney, joined Kathryn Tappen on Bruins Face-Off Live on Saturday to discuss the team’s charity initiatives.

The Bruins participated in “Cuts for a Cause” this past Wednesday, raising over $25,000 for Massachusetts General Hospital’s pediatric oncology unit.

“We had over 12 of the current guys [on the Bruins roster] that stepped up to the plate and put their hair on the line,” noted Sweeney.

Sweeney discussed an upcoming event where Bruins players will give the “shirts off their backs” to lucky fans who win the opportunity to go on the ice following the final regular season home game April 10 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

He also named the teams that the Bruins Foundation will sponsor in the Boston Marathon and Pan-Mass Challenge.
