Patriots Draft Michigan Punter Zoltan Mesko in Fifth Round of NFL Draft

Consider this the greatest moment for people named Zoltan since Dude, Where's My Car? came out in 2000.

The moment is the Patriots' drafting of Michigan punter Zoltan Mesko in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft.

Mekso, a native of Romania who grew up in Ohio, was the first kicker or punter named captain in the 100-plus years of history in the Wolverines' program. He was twice named to the Big Ten All-Conference Team, was named to the 2009 All-American first team and was a finalist for both the Ray Guy Award and Wuerffel Trophy in 2009.

In 50 career college games, he averaged 42.5 yards per punt, booting a career-high 68-yard punt in 2007.

The Patriots visited Mesko last Friday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The Patriots also signed Australian rules football player David King as a punter earlier this month, but the team likely wouldn't spend a fifth-round pick on a punter if he wasn't going to make the roster.
