Say what you want about the "Spygate" scandal, but it appears that the Patriots have taken at least one idea from the Jets. Five years after former Australian rules footballer Ben Graham took over the punting duties in New York, the Pats will have an Aussie of their own fighting the battle for field position, signing punter David King on Wednesday.

King, 28, played at the semi-pro level in his homeland, for Bundoora (2001-2002), Euroa (2003-2007) and Norwood.

King came to the United States in 2009, with the goal of eventually securing a spot on an NFL roster. He participated in a kicking camp in Nevada, where his performance impressed the Patriots.
