Robbie Maddison Jumps Corinth Canal in Greece, Confirms He’s New Evel Knievel

Australian freestyle motocross star Robbie Maddison keeps outdoing his past stunts. According to GrindTV.com, he recently cleared the 279-foot-wide Corinth Canal in Greece, sailing 300 feet in the air.

“I just could not resist,” the Red Bull-sponsored rider told the Web site, adding that the jump “involved the highest consequences I have faced so far.”

Last year, Madison backflipped across an open Tower Bridge draw bridge, flying over the Thames River in London. The year before, he performed a 96-foot-high jump onto the Arc de Triumphe in front of the Paris hotel in Las Vegas, according to his Web site.

He also has set the record for distance jumping at 322 feet, 7.5 inches.

Maddo, as he is called, will compete in a less-threatening Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour that begins on Friday in Mexico City.
