West Virginia’s Da’Sean Butler Tears ACL in Left Knee

INDIANAPOLIS — West Virginia says senior
forward Da'Sean Butler has torn the ACL in his left knee after a hard
collision against Duke in the Final Four.

Sports information director Bryan Messerly says
an MRI done Sunday at an Indianapolis hospital also revealed a sprain
of the medial cruciate ligament and two bone bruises.

Butler, the Mountaineers' leading scorer, drew a
foul after driving into Duke's Brian Zoubek under the basket with 8:59
left in the second half of Saturday night's NCAA semifinal. Butler
collapsed to the court and writhed in pain as a trainer tried straighten
his leg.

The senior finishes his career as the
third-leading scorer in WVU history with 2,095 points.
