MWRA Water Main Break May Take Toll on Stomach of Red Sox Nation

Going on without clean tap water for a few days didn't sound too demanding for the bold and brave Eastern Massachusetts residents when the MWRA water main break was announced on Saturday morning.

Think again.

By sacrificing that deliciously clean H2O, Bostonians must go on without Dunkin Donuts fueling their morning drive for a couple of days. Also, Kayem Foods Inc., the makers of Fenway Franks, halted production on Saturday. That's right, there's a chance we may be facing a hot dog shortage, according to Erin Ailworth of the Boston Globe.

And it gets worse. What goes best with a Fenway Frank? How about an ice-cold Sam Adams, brought to you by Boston Beer Co.? The same Boston Beer Co. that was asked by a municipality to conserve water on Saturday. No water means no beer.

So while the lines at the super markets were long and stressful over the weekend, just imagine how they will be come Monday night when the Red Sox welcome the Angels into a possible hot dog- and beer-limited Fenway Park.
