Earthquake Disrupts Padres-Blue Jays Game in San Diego

John Buck homered twice and Aaron Hill had three doubles and three RBIs, but Mother Nature supplied the biggest highlights in the Blue Jays' win over the Padres in San Diego on Monday night as an earthquake stopped play momentarily in the eighth inning at Petco Park.

After David Eckstein grounded out in the bottom of the inning, the stadium began shaking. The next batter, Chase Headley, stayed out of the batter’s box for a few seconds, then stepped in before the public address announcer told the crowd that the rumbling was, in fact, an earthquake and for fans to remain calm. MLB.com has the video.

The Jays would go on to win 6-3.
