Ex-NFL Quarterback Randall Cunningham’s Son Drowns in Hot Tub

Randall Cunningham’s two-year-old son, Christian, died Tuesday after he was found floating in the backyard hot tub at the Cunningham’s home, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

A woman at the Cunningham’s house was reportedly with several other children when she found the boy at 4:30 p.m. She removed him from the hot tub and began performing CPR. Paramedics took the toddler to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena campus, where he died, according to Las Vegas police Lt. Dennis Flynn.

After an investigation, the drowning appeared to be an accident, Flynn said.

Cunningham, former UNLV star and NFL quarterback, is pastor of nearby church Remnant Ministries and used the hot tub to perform baptisms at his home.

Cunningham still holds the UNLV record for career passing yards with 8,020. After UNLV, Cunningham spent 16 years in the NFL, where he was selected to four Pro Bowls.

He became an ordained minister in 2004, and has three other children with his wife, Felicity.

Cunningham was believed to be in San Diego or on his way back at the time of the drowning.
