Jeremy Roenick Cries, Mike Milbury Says ‘Suck it Up’ After Blackhawks Win Stanley Cup

If you’re going to cry on national television, make sure Mike Milbury isn’t around.

Jeremy Roenick found that out on Wednesday night, after Patrick Kane scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Blackhawks their first Stanley Cup in 49 years. Roenick, a Boston native, played the first eight years of his career for the Hawks, so he was understandably emotional at the sight of the team winning it all. As he broke into tears on air, the former Bruins’ tough guy essentially told him to suck it up.

Milbury then put his arm around Roenick, telling him he had a hell of a career, but remember that these two didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye during the Olympics this year.

Dan Patrick: You’re emotional. Why’s it affecting you?

Roenick: Um … Chicago Blackhawks, man. I didn’t get to do that. It’s pretty unbelievable.

Milbury: Well I didn’t get to do it, either, and I’m not gonna cry.

So, umm. Boof Bonser‘s Red Sox debut didn’t exactly get Boston fans excited for the future of Boof.

“W[h]ere on earth did they find this guy? He looks like someone sent from central casting to play Babe Ruth his final season with the Brooklyn Dodgers.”
