Sinking a hole-in-one is rare enough. How about doing it twice in one round?
Twenty-three-year-old Richard Kube managed to do just that on Wednesday at the Tasmania Golf Club, the Herald Sun reports.
"We looked it up on the internet and it said it was a one in 67 million occurrence, so it's pretty rare," Kube told the Sun.
His first hole-in-one came on the par-3 eighth hole of the course, using a six iron.
"I saw it go in the hole and I thought, 'It's good to have my first one [hole-in-one],'" he told the Sun.
His second was on the par-3 11th hole, using an eight iron. Kube used the same ball to hit both shots.
A member of the Tasmanian senior team, Kube is a talented golfer, boasting a 2-handicap. His entry in the club’s usual Wednesday competition was a spur-of-the-moment decision, as he only was playing because he got off work earlier than usual.
While his friends celebrated wildly after the second hole-in-one, Kube remained calm.
"I thought 'Oh well, that's two'. It has to happen to someone," he said.
He plans to mount the golf ball as a keepsake.
