Ozzie Guillen Says White Sox Parade in 2005 Was Better than Blackhawks Parade

Ozzie Guillen seems to be a little jealous of his fellow Chicago team’s recent success.

The often outspoken White Sox manager took some time to remember his team’s 2005 World Series victory parade, after the Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup parade last Friday.

"Ours was better," Guillen told Chicago Breaking Sports, "because there were more people. I guarantee there were more."

The Blackhawks, who brought the Stanley Cup to Wrigley Field for the Cubs-White Sox game on Sunday night, had an estimated two million fans at their parade.

The admittedly biased Guillen made the argument that the White Sox parade in 2005, which took a winding route from U.S. Cellular Field through Chicago neighborhoods, was longer than the Blackhawks parade, which went straight through downtown.

Guillen claims that the roundabout route attracted more fans.

What he might be forgetting, however, is that half of Chicago roots for a different ballclub.
