Patriots to Wear New Throwback Uniforms Twice This Season Pat Patriot is back for another season, as the Patriots announced they will be wearing their throwback uniforms when they play the Minnesota Vikings on Halloween and against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

The throwbacks will officially replace the Patriots’ silver alternate jerseys, but will look a bit different than the 1960’s-style uniforms worn last year in celebration of the AFL’s 50th anniversary, Boston.com reports.

These new throwbacks will be styled after the 1985 AFC Championship team — uniforms that Brett Favre may recognize from his first years in the league in the early ‘90s, when the Patriots still wore them. (That’s assuming he’s still the quarterback of the Vikings when Oct. 31 rolls around.)

The Patriots can wear the uniforms twice during the season — once at home, once on the road.
