Wes Welker Participates in Drills at Patriots’ Voluntary Workouts

Wide receiver Wes Welker was in attendance and running drills with the wide receivers during Wednesday's organized team activities in Foxboro, according to NESN.com's Jeff Howe.

Welker, who was not in attendance on Tuesday, has not set a timetable for his return, though few believed he'd be back running drills as early as June 2 after undergoing two separate surgeries in the offseason.
Participating in the drills, of course, doesn't mean he's ready to play, but it's certainly a positive sign.

Welker suffered torn ACL and MCL ligaments in the Patriots' regular-season finale in Houston on Jan. 3. He underwent successful surgery to repair the ACL in February after allowing the MCL to heal naturally. He also underwent another surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.
