After the second game of the day, Argentina is alone in first place, three points ahead of both Greece and South Korea with one game left in group play.
Argentina 4, South Korea 1
In one of the best performances of the World Cup so far, Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuain netted a hat trick in a 4-1 victory over South Korea. South Korea came alive in the second half, trailing 2-1, but missed a chance to tie in the 58th minute and it was all downhill from there.
Greece 2, Nigeria 1
Nigeria largely controlled the game until midfielder Sani Kaita was handed a red card for kicking Vasilis Torosidis in the thigh in the 33rd minute, his team leading 1-0. Momentum shifted and despite a string of saves by Nigeria keeper Vincent Enyeama, Greece rallied for its first World Cup win.
Mexico 2, France 0
Mexico now only needs a draw to advance to the next round after it took care of France behind goals from Javier Hernandez and Cuauhtemoc Blanco. Hernandez scored in the 64th minute after he managed to get behind France's goalkeeper, while Blanco scored on a penalty kick in the 79th minute. Mexico will play Uruguay next.
