Andrew Bynum Undergoes Knee Surgery, Expected to Be Ready for Season
Lakers center Andrew Bynum underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday but is expected to be ready by the beginning of the season, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Bynum's recovery will be complicated by the Lakers' preseason trips to England and Spain, so he will be limited during training camp.
The center had his knee drained on three separate occasions last season, and he was severely limited in the NBA Finals against Boston. His surgery was nowhere near as severe as the Celtics' Kendrick Perkins, who tore knee ligaments and is expected to be out until at least early 2011. Bynum suffered from torn cartilage, not tendons.
