Teddy Ballgame wasn't the first, however, as Dale Alexander bagged one in 1932. Alexander won the title as a Red Sox player, but came over from the Detroit Tigers in June of that season. Jimmy Foxx then bagged the 1938 crown with a .349 batting average. Foxx was the first Red Sox star to accomplish the feat while spending a full season in Boston, before Williams captured four titles from 1941 to1947.

Carl Yastrzemski then won three in the '60s,and Wade Boggs earned five in the '80s. There have been an abundance of hot hitters since Boggs patrolled Fenway Park, but which Red Sox player last won the AL batting title?
