Report: Maurice Clarett Signs With UFL’s Omaha Nighthawks

Jeff Garcia will have a fellow high-profile player to hand off to in the Omaha Nighthawks' backfield.

Former Ohio State star Maurice Clarett has signed with the UFL's newest team, reports NBC Sports.

Clarett last played competitive football in 2003, after which he challenged the NFL's draft eligibility rules only to lose the legal battle and forgo his NCAA eligibility.

The Denver Broncos picked him in the third round of the 2005 draft, but he never made it onto the field for a regular season NFL game.

Thereafter, he was convicted of robberies and spent three years in prison, but was released earlier this year.

Clarett is still just 26 years old.
