Report: Derrek Lee Close to Being Traded From Chicago Cubs to Atlanta Braves

Facing injury woes and in the midst of a tough playoff race, the Atlanta Braves are apparently close to acquiring Derrek Lee from the Chicago Cubs.

Lee has a no-trade clause in his contract and rejected a move to the Anaheim Angels earlier this season. Still, Lee may be willing to go to the first-place Braves, reports CSN Chicago.

The Braves recently lost Chipper Jones for the season, and Lee could serve both as a replacement for his bat and veteran presence.

For the Cubs, the move would be a salary dump, as Atlanta would take on much of Lee's remaining $13 million salary.

Lee has 16 home runs in 2010, but is batting just .251, 55 points below his 2009 mark.
