Jarrod Saltalamacchia's Red Sox debut appears to be coming sooner than expected.
According to WEEI.com, the Red Sox' newly acquired catcher will be promoted for Wednesday's game against Toronto at the Rogers Centre. He will replace Kevin Cash on the roster, as Cash will be placed on the 15-day DL.
Saltalamacchia has hit just .238 in Pawtucket since being acquired and has not played in the majors since April 7 with Texas.
