Will Dustin Pedroia's Return on Tuesday Be a Laser Show? Dustin Pedroia
was playing some of his best baseball directly prior to his injury, hitting .374 in June.

On Tuesday, the former MVP is expected to return, and if the Red Sox want to make the playoffs, they may need a “laser show” out of Pedroia.

While not quite at his MVP pace of 2008, Pedroia actually has the highest slugging percentage of his career at .502, and his highest OPS too at .871. His home run pace was far greater than in years past, and nearly all of his statistics were slightly better than in 2009.

Most importantly, Pedroia really was putting on a laser show before going onto the DL. He was slugging .626 with a 1.075 OPS in June, numbers worthy of another MVP.

If he can continue that form when he returns, and the team can get some consistency on the mound, the Red Sox likely will find themselves closing the gap in the AL East.

Regardless, Pedroia would probably just tell us to relax, and vote in this poll himself.

So, will his return be a laser show? Text ‘SOX1’ to 542542 for “Yes.” Text ‘SOX2’ to
542542 for “No,” or text ‘SOX3’ to 542542 for “Relax.”
